Cinder Block as decoration

So is there any reason why I can not put a single concrete cinder block in my 90 gallon aquarium for my Oscar?

it would leach minerals into the water, making your water harder then it already is.. not to mention they have lime in them..

Any stone that would pass the acid test... vinigar or muratic acid driped on the stone to see if it bubbles. If it doesnt bubble then it can be put in the tank..

Is there a specific reason you want a cinderblock? You should be able to go to a nursery or home improvement store and buy yourself a nice piece of slate. Score the slate, place it over a hard edge (I used a patio step), and break it with a hammer Then just silicone your pieces together.
