how would u handle cleaning gravel in a heavily planted tank? ..would u even have to? ..would there be any difference if it was plastic or real?

In a planted tank you just kinda run the vacuum over top of the gravel to get the debris up where you can. But mostly you just suck the water out.

Real plants will act as a bio filter for some of the debris that collects in the gravel, but you would still need to vaccuum the gravel regularly. Plastic plants will become a farm for the debris to collect and grow, and you would definitely have to vaccuum the gravel even more often than real plants. This is assuming you have fish in there as well.
