I have a 55 gallon I'm working on getting back up and running. It's not in bad shape or anything but has white residue ( hard water or something I'm guessing? ) on the glass and I don't know the best way of getting it off. Any suggestions?

I use white vinegar to clean my glass top. It's probably mineral deposits from the water. Depending on how thick it is, it may be difficult to remove. Just keep soaking it with vinegar. Make sure you rise everything out really well before adding fish, I'm sure they wouldn't appreciate the vinegar

Let it soak overnight. Try laying the tank on its side and laying strips of paper towels soaked in vinegar over the problem area. Then use razor blades to remove.

Thanks everyone. There isn't any fish in the tank. I will give it a try!!
