What sized tank do you have along with current fish? This will go a long way in us helping you pick out a clean up crew.

You can get some shrimp like amano shrimp. They will scavenge the uneaten food and even eat algae.

Nerite snails are the best algae eaters because they eat the largest variety of algae and come in beautiful shell patterns. I like trapdoor snails too, but I just got those for my pond and put the leftovers in my own tank. Mystery snails are good too but do your research because some eat plants.

Only have fake plants so mystery snails would be fine but don't know a store besides Walmart that sells them. I really just want a snail that will scavenge. Are they freshwater crabs my friend has salwater crabs and those would be cool.

I don't think there are any freshwater crabs. Snails usually only eat algae so if you want something to scavenge you'll have to go for shrimp again. There are freshwater lobsters though. They might scavenge but I don't know much about them.

There are actually freshwater fiddler crabs but they need a land area to come out of the water.
You could get kuhli loaches or cory cats along with a snail or two.

Fiddler crabs need a little salt in their water too. +1 to cory catfish!
