It would be no harm in getting another filter but hang on and see if the suggestions work. If you have the cash to get one, do but wait for the sales!!

So I put a new tiny air stone on instead of the bubble wand it's off the gravel and small and tossed the filter floss and packed it looser tomorrow water change 50 percent hopefully it will clear up more why is it cloudy still any ideas now?

What do you mean 'fake' Purigen. Where you not using Purigen at all??. I doubt it's a bloom. The tank will cloud up a lot more. This my thread on a bloom....

It's chemi pure plus my Lfs said it's the same as purigen the bag I got was only rated for 20 gallon Max when my filter is for 50 gallons so I put carbon that the filter suggests in now my wife tells me it's crystal clear I'll check tomorrow and let u know thanks for all the help!

Now it's finally crystal clear bad cell phone pic and just feed them

I don't think so but seeing what the aquacleaar 50 and it's carbon did with lightly packed filter floss I'm just going to use that from now on and nothing else! Thanks for all your help!

I used to think my water was crystal clear when mine looked like yours, too. However, there is the next step up. To make the water look polished like the fish are swimming in air, you need a Polishing pad + Seachem Purigen in lieu of carbon. Purigen is initially more expensive than carbon but it lasts longer and can be recharged.

The sure fire way to get truly polished water with the "fish swimming in air" look with an aquaclear or Fluval C series HOB is::

1) (Fluval Edge) Sponge Pre-filter
2) Sponge bio media (AquaClear factory stock is fine but it is NOT a polishing pad but Interestingly, the Fluval C series does [made by same company as AquaClears] does come with polishing pad standard from the factory)
3) Blue bonded or 100 micron polishing pad or equivalent

Aquarium Filter Media: Drs Foster and Smith Blue Bonded Filter Pad

Amazon.com: Aquatic Life Media Non-Woven White Pad for Aquarium Filter, 100-Micron: Pet Supplies

4) Floss and purigen
5) "Factory" bio media.

Carbon does not polish the water in terms of removing the ultra fine debris. Only polishing pads (or some say tightly packed floss) does that. See this thread:

Best wishes......
And oh, BTW your tank décor/seascape is beautiful.

If you are using an AC filter, you would be far better off using the AC foam inserts, perhaps 2 even, with some filter floss between the sponges. Forget the carbon, and why are you using a pH compound to regulate your pH?

I've got to disagree on the two "factory inserts" idea. The AquaClear sponge is NOT a polishing pad. Although I am sure there are others, the only other person on this forum with HOB only that gets his water as clear as mine (that I have seen anyway) is Thumper828 and in his aquaclear, he uses a fluval sponge pre-filter and the blue backing polishing pad (which I have said in other posts is the equivalent of my 100 micron stuff) rather than a second foam insert as follows:

See:
http://www.aquariumadvice.com/forums/f60/aquaclear-70-a-281447.html

and picture of his tank here along with other explanation of getting water crystal clear and polished with an Aquaclear:

(those are links to two separate threads with same title)

where I note at post #17:

I take all kinds of flack for only doing twice a month water changes but both my tanks are absolutely crystal clear with the "fish swimming in air" look. The only things both thanks have in common is the 100 micron filtering pad and Purigen. [Different filters, different fish, different substrate, different brands of fake plants and rocks]

I use Seachem Matrix + aqua-tech bio-media for BB in my 38 gallon with

"Factory installed" bio-media in the Fluval on the 29 gallon.

38 gallon pre-filter is floss in a biobag.

29 gallon pre-filter is a fluval sponge.

In the end, I'm just trying to be helpful letting people know about a "sure-fire" easy way to get truly polished "fish swimming in air" water in a community freshwater tank WITHOUT having to purchase a canister filter.

I plan on getting another pre filter sponge I have filter floss on the bottom aqua clear carbon on top of it the more filter floss then aqua clear bio media can't find purigen does it really make a difference and I figured the second layer of floss was as good as polishing ? I love m aqua scape too thanks!

I use a ph compound to lower it tap water is 7.8 and my Lfs said the neons prefer 6.4?

It looks like there floating on air to me
