Corey cohabitation?

I have a pair of corey cats in my 45 gallon and an emergency re-homed one of a different kind in my 10 gallon. It would be cruel to keep the single in my 10 gallon but I wasn't sure if the two in my 45 would get along with it if I put it in there. Any thoughts?

When you say "one of a different kind," do you mean another cory? What was the emergency that made you take the one fish out?

Cories like to travel in little packs - they can be very shy if they don't have other cories to hang with. If all three fish are cories, then yes, having a lone cory in a tank is not good for the fish.

The lone cory was given to me by a friend and I don't know if I could put him in the tank with the other two. The line one is an emerald corey and the two on the 45 are a different genus. I know it isn't a good situation for him so i was hoping he could be with the two in the other tank. Can he?

Absolutely they can go all together.

Cories are peaceable little fish. In all my years of keeping tanks, I've never seen cories fighting with each other - regardless of whether it was a mixed school or not.
