couple of clown loach questions....

first, i know they like to school so what is a good number of fish to work with? second, i know they get quite large...but do they grow fast like an oscar/arowana or slow like, ummm, well, i can't think of any fish that grow slow....

so any hints? just for the record, these clown loachs will go in a 240gl eventually, so there eventual large size isn't a problem, i'm just wondering how long it takes....

Depends on water quality and such. The cleaner and healthier they are, the faster and bigger they'll grow. Even then, Clown Loaches max out at about 8-9 inches in the aquarium, if that. They are best in groups of atleast three.

I've had mine for about a year I guess, and they've gone from about an inch long, to about 3-4 inches long, in a 55 gallon.

I keep mine in pairs and they hang around together. They get big but don't grow that fast. It's fun to see them laying on their side taking a rest.Try'em, you'll lik 'em.
