:confused:hey everybody i have a freshwater stream behind my house and it has tons of crayfish in it. I was wondering if i could just get tham out of the stream and transfer them into tank.

You could, but... are there fish in the tank? What temp do you maintain?

crayfish are scavangers and opportunistic
they will eat any fish it catches at nights when the fish sinks to the bottom
when i didnt know that i kept crayfish with bunch of other fish...man it was like throwing in young fresh pigs into a lions cage

I agree with Kanger, I have a Electric Blue Lobster (cayfish) and it is in it's own tank because I didn't want to wake up to an tank with only a crawfish.

if you want something different that stands out from the ordinary tropical fish tanks, a species only tank is not a bad idea...
they can be interesting to watch...
