crown-tailed betta

I want a crown tailed betta(the jagged edge ones) but I didn't know if they required anything different from a regular betta. I've kept several bettas(they were the regular ones). I will be housing the betta in a 1 gallon tank. I am hoping that that is a good size. It will be the same tank tha fort I used another betta I kept before.

all bettas are the same species...the difference in finnage is just due to breeding practices to emphasize those characteristics.

Not tru. All splendens are the same species regardless of their tail. There are many common species of bettas (smaragdina, imbellis, pungax etc..)
