I have not tried the pill bug thing but am not sure I would reccomend it. I have tried to feed them to lizards & they usually won't eat them or spit them out quickly & don't try again. Maybe they would be OK for fish but I would certainly look into it before I did.
Yeah a wormbed is the way to go. Get rid of kitchen scraps & make compost & fish food at the same time. I think though that the red worms that they normally sell for composting might have toxic secretions that fish don't like (I think someone on here mentioned that) so I would stick with the garden variety if I where you.
