So right now I am sitting at 0ppm on both of my nitrite and nitrate tests. My tank is 6 days old since cycling with zero water changes just added water with the proper chemicals to fill it up as part of the cycle.

I was told I should have higher nitrites and nitrates when I bought the test kits as it has only been 6 days. I've had tetras in it since day two and plants aswell along with feeding them flakes.

What is everyone's opinion on this. You think it is safe to throw some shrimp in or other creatures?1569263768325.jpgIMG_20190922_150154.jpg

You've been given bad information...

Please research fish in cycling.

What is your ammonia reading?
Did you shake the living daylights out off solution bottle #2 for the NO3 test?
6 days is virtually nothing in terms of cycling, completely normal to have 0 nitrite or nitrate at that stage of cycling.
