Cut up moss ball

I want to put small peices all over driftwood, do you think it'll survive?

I don't see why not I did it a few yrs ago and it looked great once it grew out

Yes it will survive. Moss balls survive independently. The individual pieces will grow at a rate of 5 cm a year

If I don't roll them up back into balls, how will they grow? Like up or sideways u know?

How do you get it to stick to the driftwood? Would you tie it with thread till I roots in?

I heard it doesn't root in, you just tie it with fishing line and it eventually grows until it's unoticeable

The first one is my driftwood with a small piece of Marimo tucked into a hole.


The second picture is about a month later. It's not exactly what you're thinking of doing but it might give you an idea of how fast it might spread.

Anyway, very minute growth but it does grow!

I've read that u can stick plants down with super glue, could you do it with the moss?
