DIY PVC tank add ons like spray bars. Are they bad?

So I saw the DIY here on the spray bar. LOVED IT! So I went to Home Depot, found the parts, then spoke with a gal who said she used to run a Pet store. She advised AGAINST PVC in the tank as it may leech chemicals into the water therby killing my fish. What would you all say? And thank you in advance. By the way I love this FORUM!

I would say bull. PVC is used for drinking water lines in homes all the time.

PVC is not going to cause any issues. As stated, it's used for drinking water lines, and just about every reef tank out there.

Agree with above replies. She's full-o-bunk. PVC leaches nothing, and after 24 hours of cure time neither does the glue. As stated above, it couldn't be used for drinking water if it did.
