as stated above i was wondeirng if it is crussial for my bn plecos to have some driftwood in the tank.
They don't *need* it but definitely benefit from it. All my 5 do all day is chew on wood. I would recommend getting some. Even just a small piece.

Don't know if it applies to a BNP but I wouldn't chance it as everywhere on the 'net it states that BNPs need wood.
I wouldnt use red oak, mountain laurel, or rhododendron. They are poisonous to most animals so i wouldn't chance it with plecos.
Yep. Maple is safe but its also a softwood so good luck getting it to sink!
Maple has a lot of sap (mmmmm, maple syrup) and that is going to funk your tank up something awful.
