Do snails get "stuck" and need rescue??

My very cool Blue-Mystery snail crawled into a cave and looks like he may be stuck. Has anyone known this to happen? can they back up? It'd be easy enough to dismantle the cave but there is an entire root system woven through it and its really cool as is. Thinking of giving him a couple days to figure it out.

Haha I thought this a couple times but they are crafty nimble escape artists, and surprisingly fast for snails when they are on a mission, no sure for what though
