I've recently read that flake food will lose its nutritional value over time, similar to over cooking broccoli or ramen noodles. Any truth here?

I ve read that too. I freeze it & just take out a little at a time , like 2 wks worth.

Freezing it huh? Sounds about right, what if the container has been out for 3/4 months?

I d see if it says anything on the container about what the shelf life is once it s opened, there should also be an out date stamped somewhere. If it s not past that date, I d freeze it.
