I have 3 bamboo shrimp in my 55 gallon. dskidmore I fully agree with your discust with petco but think of it this way, your saving them from a short un-heppy life! My smallest bamboo has molted once. I have a 12" air tube positioned vertically and my smallest shrimp loves to hang on it facing the air's current! They are a great addition to any tank. My black shark gets along fine with them and he is almost twice the size of the largest one

Sure, I save that one, and they harvest one more from the wild.

(Yes, I do buy wild-caught animals all the time, but I'm not going to encourage someone to capture who mistreats them.)

Would be stressful for them but they do worse on the way to the pet store. If you can possibly avoid it, don't leave them in bags more than an hour. If you have to, shrimp should be bagged with some plants, or something else they can hang onto, and any creature bagged for a long time should have some ammonia detoxifying agent in the bag.
