drift wood

I live on the Mississippi so its easy to find drift wood. I figured I would try it in my tanks. I have a few questions. I have it soaking in water rite now,how long does it need to sit? Also how do I keep it from floating?

It depends on how hot the water is. Instead of soaking it, you could simply run it through a dishwasher or boil it. Doing one or the other should keep it from floating, if not you can always tie it down with some string.
