ok, just this morning i took off the dumbell that was on my driftwood, and hauled it 2 floors to my garden. in my garden i

1) yelled at the driftwood
2) kicked the driftwood
3) then i flipped over the driftwood and threw rocks into the hollow inside.
4) i now smashed those rocks with the weight i took off of it.
5) then as i picked up the driftwood to put it in the garden, i realized, this son of a cow is friggin heavy and i practically made a big crack on the side. so im like "well, lets see how floatty you are in the POND" So i chucked it in the pond and what do you know... it sinks
6) I hauled it, now 3x heavier UP 2 stories, and let it drop in my tank... where it sits on the bottom of my tank.

all of this... without slates :D

Yeah, I just started soaking a piece of driftwood I found on the beach last week. So far it's floating like a cork....I don't have high hopes. lol

I shall apply this solution next time my computer acts up. Just open it up, smack around the CPU, say bad things about it's mother (Intel) and everything should run great. Sadly, I don't think this method will help solve my problem with getting a girlfriend. LOL.

The rocks in the hollowed out area was a good idea, you didnt say that it was hollowed out to the point that you could stuff it with rocks but good show! :p

lol, i said the bottom is hollow thus i couldnt drill holes for the slate! read the Muhahahaaha driftwood doesnt stand a chance thread.

my tank is made of arylic. i doubt its glass... could be. lemme tap it. actually i think it is glass. if i look down the edge its greenish. i do believe it is glass.

greenish=glass
and I did read the other thread.. you still didnt say it was so hollow that rocks in it would likely sink it.. :p

hahahaha....i'm a bit late but what an awesome turnout this has been

i've seen you through the excitement of getting it and the tears of hauling down the stairs to the anger of beating its butt, to the triumph of getting that sucker sunk!

CONGRATS!! :D

SUCCESS!!! Congratulations! You must have wedged those rocks inside that log really tight! You have an extremely nice looking piece of drift wood.
