Driftwood questions?

I would trust more the Petco one, properly boiled, than the slimy bark....
I wouldnt so much say that it was slimy bark, I guess I worded that wrong! I guess a better description would be "slick" about 2 inches worth on the bottom where it was cut. The "bark" I was referring to was like, hmmmm, lose bits? I enclosed some pics above this post.
 
I did see some large log looking pieces at the store labeled grape wood, and i remembered those weren't good, but this one only says driftwood. ive looked at different pictures of types of driftwood and i cant tell what kind it might be. i can post some pics here maybe you guys can? same piece different angles. i've not done anything with it yet

Those are nice pieces! Love the first one! They look a lot like my mopani driftwood that I got from PetSmart. Although, I'm def no authority on pieces of wood. :lol:
