Hey guys I am pretty sure my zebra danio is in the late stages of dropsy because it is already looking like a pine cone. I was on vacation and came home to it after a week. Before I left everyone was looking fine. I immediately quarenteed him and he is just getting worse. Is there any hope? Also is it contagious for my other zebra danios in the tank?other types of fish too? What should I do? [emoji20]IMG_5732.jpgIMG_5729.jpg

I've never had one recover once they pinecone.

Some I've had go like that in old age.

On a small screen I can't see any fin rot or bacterial infection. If you aren't seeing anything, I'd just do a water change and check tank ph, ammonia, etc.

Congrats on the QT - at least he is out of the main tank.

Update he lost the fight and died this morning. Thanks for helping

It's okay he was a rescue from big box store, he lived a long happy life compared to the alternative of staying at a big box store being abused his whole life!
