Duckweed & brackish water

Will it thrive, die, or merely survive?

Depends on how brackish, but it thrives in my mildly brackish tanks.

I'll bet it has a fighting chance - most posts about duckweed are not how to grow it, but how to get RID of it

I tell you, duckweed is one hardy plant. It took me almost 4 months to get it completely out of my 20 [acronym:05eb8872c0="Gallon"]gal[/acronym:05eb8872c0] tank, and that was with pulling it out every single day. Finally I dont see any more floating in the tank, but it may still suprise me and pop back up one day.

I use it a lot, well actually it's not exactly duckweed, but that's what they called it at the [acronym:ee768277e4="Local Fish Store"]LFS[/acronym:ee768277e4]. It's bigger, so it doesn't get blown all over the tank, but it doesn't drop long roots like frogbit. It looks like Butterfly Fern to me. I use it to balance my tanks and soak up nutrients. Hopefully it'll work in my brackish (1.005) tank. All my fish & shrimp seem to love the stuff.
