earth worms??

i read that you can go utside and dig up earthworms for your fish as long as no fertilizers, etc have been used lately. is this safe???

It is safe as long as you 'KNOW' that no fertilizers or pesticides have been used on your property or may have washed over from a neighbors.
I have a wormbed in one of our gardens, feed'em to my Oscar regularly.
I feed alot of insects store bought and wild caught, depending on the size/type of fish you can feed whole or chopped.

Agreed...my yard is full of massive nightcrawlers that are easy to harvest on rainy nights....my fish LOVE worm nights. During the winter I just purchase worms from a local bait supplier, but may start a vermicomposter to create my own on-hand supply.
