Elephant nose

Could I but an elephant nose by himself in a densely planted tank?

how big is the tank. Elephant noses are very hard to keep fish they only eat live or frozen meaty food or vegetable they dont like flake

He is currently eating live black worms, and smushed algae wafted. By hand.

An elephant nose can and will grow to about 10-11 inches and really needs a 75 gal tank.

I'm not sure if the can be kept with plants or if they will tear them to shreds but they definatly only eat blood worm an other live food.

The plants aren't live they are soft and not plastic

As long as you have a big enough tank I can't see any problem. As long as you have the tank size and good filtration. These fish need a pH of 6.8 to 7.2, water temperature 26 to 28 degrees Celsius, and water of medium hardness. These fish also emit a small electrical current which they use to hunt. All I can say is this is a fairly specialised fish, not the hardest but needs good research before you invest

I already have one. He was doing fine till my black ghost knife started hurting him. I want to put the elephant nose in a ten gallon for a little till I get a bigger tank.

I wouldn't put an elephant nose in a 10 gal to be honest. How long till you get a bigger tank.
