emperor tetra?

hi there, i have 3 well 2 emperor tetra as i just lost a male, and i was wondering if anyone had any experience with these guys. i really like them and was thinking about having a school of 7,9, or 11. are those a good amount? i think i am going to try and breed them so sould i get an even amount of females and males? i have a 65 gallon community tank and i think these fish would make it look great. thanks

Here are a few links I found with info for you. I don't think you will need a certain male to female ratio, they seem to be pretty peaceful fish. I didn't really read through the articles a lot though, just kind of skimmed 'em
