Emperor Tetras
Is there anything in particular I should know before I get them and put them in my 20G planted tank. I'm picking up 8-9 of them tommorrow if not. I did some searching on them but couldn't really find any more information on them then pretty and hardy fish.

8 or 9 emperor tetras is too many for a 20 gallon. Granted they don't get too big, but they do need space. This is a tetra that does not school as tightly as others like neons and cardinals, rummynoses and such. Instead they kind of loosely school, but hang in pairs and they do keep a certain distance away from each other. Good to respect their wishes. I'd say no more than six.

If you are wanting a larger school, I'd go with something like the cardinals or the rummynoses. I agree, with the Emperors, I wouldn't go with any more than 6. You probably could do 8-10 rummys easily.
