I currently have 2 tanks and both (aside from some weird-but solved-fish activity) are healthy and pretty as can be.
I was looking through my closet and I found my old 3g tank that is in good condition but obviously I can't hook up a filter to it so I was thinking I could stock it with something with a minimal bio load that can easily (and comfortably) live in only 3 gallons. Any ideas?

You can definitely do a filter if you want; on tanks that size I just use a sponge filter.

Very minimal bioload would be shrimp!

I might just experiment with plants. I've never done a planted tank and I feel like a tank without fish and just plants would be a good way to start. I'll buy substrate and LEDs. Is that good?

The only problem is that the fish feeds the plants.

I'm just going to plant my 10g. It has LEDs already and a fish and filter.
