Endler's Livebearers
I'm considering getting some endlers for my empty 10g hex, but I see a few potential problems. Firstly, when the water level gets low my [acronym:c2b54077cd="Hang On Back"]HOB[/acronym:c2b54077cd] filter creates quite a current in the tank, which endlers apparently dont like. But when I fill it up to where the water comes out of the [acronym:c2b54077cd="Hang On Back"]HOB[/acronym:c2b54077cd] there is very little bubbles and it makes me worry if the fish are getting enough oxygen. When I had corys in there they were constantly swimming to the top for a breather, do I have to get an airstone to oxygenate the water? Also, would a rosy barb eat endlers?

I would suggest getting an air stone for the tank no matter what type of fish you are thinking of. Endlers are pretty hardy little guys they should be fine with a rosy barb. Ensure they have lots of places to hide.

Rosy barbs are cosidered semiagressive and they are fast, active swimmers. I would think a 10 [acronym:9475409c17="Gallon"]gal[/acronym:9475409c17] is small for them. They may nip at smaller slower fish, especially if there is a single rosy barb. As for oxygen, if the surface of the water is moving there is probably plenty of oxygen. No need for bubbles [acronym:9475409c17="In my opinion"]IMO[/acronym:9475409c17]. I think cories could be gulping air for other reasons, but I have no experience with cories. My [acronym:b4b8585c34="Local Fish Store"]lfs[/acronym:b4b8585c34] has a hagen elite 799 air pump for sale, so would this be fine with a small airstone? And I've dropped the rosy barb idea, I hear they can grow up to 6".

I have two male endlers and I can tell you they love playing in the current of my outlet tube. Corys come to the top to get air frequently then dive back down, this is their natural behavoir. If your other fish come to the top gasping for air then you have a problem. I don't see why you would have a oxygen deficiency, as long as you are getting water aggitation I don't see a need for a airstone.
