So i found a 15 gal tall tank for a figure 8 puffer. The dimensions are 13.6"L x 13.8"W x 24.8"H. Would this work? The space i have for the tank is 15" by 17". If the tall tank wont work can somebody recommend a tank that would?

I would ditch the tall tank. They really do need for horizontal swimming space than vertical. Just go for a 20 long, going to be easier for you and the fish in the long run. They do need brackish conditions, so please realize that you will need to be very specific on salinity and overall water params. Is it possible for you to get a 20 long?

I don't think so. Could I use a 15 gal rectangle?

Really depends on the dimensions. What are the dimensions of the 15 rectangle?

I honestly think you would be better with a dwarf puffer. You have started a few threads about puffers and with all of these combined and what your looking for i think that would be a better choice, much smaller you can fit one in a 5 gallon and can actually have something for a minor cleanup crew ect.

Ya i like dwarf puffers but nobody around me carries them. I do know somebody who has saltwater tanks and can help with getting the salt to 1.005-1.008. So after more searching i found another tank and its dimensions are 15 x 15.6 x 15.6 inches.

Any LFS around you? A lot of them to special orders, thats how i got mine. I asked them to order me one and they bought a dozen. When i went to pick mine up they said that they flew off of the shelves. So they gave me mine for free and are going to start carrying them now lol.

Ya i have a LFS but would the second tank work? I think its around 15 gallons.
