Fake PLants turning Brown

The tips and edges of my fake plants are turning brown. Is this brown algae or what?

Probably, just take the plants out and give them a wash.

It's probaqbly just diatoms. It's very common in new tanks. Does it wipe off easily?

brown algae is usually a resultant of a less-than-sufficent water quality

i agree with fishyfanatic, its fairly prevelant in cycling tanks

the rougher surface of the fake plants is easier for the algae to attach to than the glass, if you had light substrate you may see it there also
