My LFS gets some pretty cool fish, anyways I had always wanted a tiger dat, but they usually sell them around 4-5" and were a little expensive / too big at that point
However on my last trip to the store, I came across an interesting little guy. He was labelled as a "Sumatran tiger datnoid," and I've come to the conclusion he's an Indonesian tiger datnoid.
I bought him... $30
He's really really tiny, I bought the smallest feeder fish I could, he seems really interested in them, he even stalks the smallest ones... But no eating
I've seen him gobble up a few bloodworms here and there, but he spits them back out for the most part
... I've heard shrimp or krill could be a good option to try
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with smaller Indonesian tiger dats.
If there's any foods you could recommend to get him to start eating a little more... I still have to try out the shrimp / krill....
I think I even heard zooplankton might be another option
Anyways, I would like to get him big enough to start consuming those feeder fish so that he can reach his maximum potential size
When he gets big enough he's going to be homed with my Aces
