hi

i have in my fridge some carrots in packaging that i bought to eat with a ranch dip lol. can i feed those carrots to my fish? will they like it? whats the procedure?

thanks

I'd slice them lengthwise, thinly, and boil them for a few minutes to soften. See what happens-can't hurt! Just don't leave them in there for more than a day or they will start to get kinda funky.

My plecos and snails love carrots--

Blanching them will help. And the carotine will certainly bring out their colors. Definately slice thin or shred, as mentioned.

i tried to feed carrots once. i had boiled them to soften them. i put them in the tank before lights out. the next afternoon, i found one of my large mystery snails in trouble.

i took her out, put her in a bucket and some of the jossling must have dislodged the hard carrot core that she was apparently choking on.

in short, be careful when feeding carrots. make sure they are soft.
