Feeding live bloodworms - how?

I have never fed live food to my fish, but I would like to try, especially since I am hoping my kribs breed.

A wonderful [acronym:fbf804f2bc="Local Fish Store"]lfs[/acronym:fbf804f2bc] close to my house sells them - a bunch in a bag...

How do I get them out of the bag and how do I know how many to feed, and what do I do with any unused ones?

Thanks.

I have just the thing for you Lori...a worm feeder. It's a plastic cone shaped cup that attaches to the tank wall.

I brought mine at the [acronym:fcaadeb423="Local Fish Store"]LFS[/acronym:fcaadeb423] store...it's manufactured by Lee's. Pull the squiggler's out and place in a cup or pan and rinse them down with room temp water. Then place in the feeder. Depending on their size (and how long you wish to keep each worm), a couple of worms each is fine.

You can keep the worms in a small plastic container and just change the water they're in every few days.

Yes, but in the wild they don't sit in buckets of cornstarch. Don't you think it will be fine just like that, greenmaji?

I use a turkey baster as it lets me spot feed the slow fish, and also to change water in the bloodworm container, which is small tupperware.

I use a worm keeper, makes rinsing them a breeze, then I have a pair of plastic tongs that I use to feed them out. Gives me the ability to drop them where I want, or to target feed.

Hi Lori,

Put them in a tupperware container with just enough water to cover them and place them in the fridge. Be sure to rinse everyday to keep them fresh.

Other then that, I use a medicine dropper to feed them.
