Feeling of regret...

I need someone to tell me that it was alright that I got a new tank. I didn't really need one that big, but I got it anyway. I've always wanted a bigger tank. I have it all set-up and have transferred my fish to it already. I just have a feeling in the pit of my stomache that I didn't really need it. I was happy with my 20 [acronym:d7604fd575="Gallon"]gal[/acronym:d7604fd575]. I don't know what I was thinking...

I only have limited exerience, but from what I can tell already the bigger the tank the better. If you have room for it and the time to care for it, why not?

Don't worry; I think you'll be fine. From your signature line, it looks like you've already been taking care of a lot of different kinds of fish. Their care won't change in a new tank. Did you transfer the gravel and decorations to the new tank so the new tank has some good bacteria already? Just watch your cycle, but you already knew that, and everything should be fine.

What size tank is it? Are you out of work and/or hard up? If not, then awesome! I have 3 tanks right now and I want at least 3 more. If you feel that bad then I will take the tank off your hands for you. I know, I know... I'm such a giver!

FWGal: I am buying a new tank this weekend, and I'm asking for another one for Christmas! New tanks are great! What size is it? I'm excited for you! Don't feel badly about it, your fish will love their new home!

It's a 46 [acronym:82f4a37a0e="Gallon"]gal[/acronym:82f4a37a0e] bow front. Santa brought it to me early this year. I don't know, I guess it was just the whole weight of it last night after I got it set-up. I think I will be ok, now I can have more fish. I guess I'm crazy huh?

If you were to assume that you are crazy, that means we all here are crazy. Since that is very unlikely therefore you are A'OK. We all want new tanks. The funniest thing about it is that we look for all kind of funny and silly reasons to have it and to justify our desires to ourselves and our spouses/significant others. Another funny thing is that we spend hundreds of dollars to have $20-$30 worth of fish
Some of us, of course, have more expensive fish (talking saltwater ) but overall fish is inexpensive comparing to equipment cost. I already want new 20 gallon to have as another tank, and 10 gallon as QT/Hospital tank. YOU ARE OK!

Congrats on your new tank! I have learned that this multi-tank syndrome is quite catchy! I've only had my 10 [acronym:1cc2fcfb3d="Gallon"]gal[/acronym:1cc2fcfb3d] for about 6/7 weeks now, and I'm already planning for a 55! ::eye boggle:: Really, when I look at how much money I invested into my cat to keep him alive (food, litter, vet bills, flea medicine, antibiotics for his bladder infections, surgeries for his bladder infections, etc) fish are much cheaper. As a single mom of one with no child support, cheaper is good!

Seriously though, do not feel guilty. Be proud! And if it was an early gift from Santa, fix it up nice and display it proudly to all you know. I was a recluse at family gatherings before, now I take them all downstairs to my basement apartment to show off my fish tank!
