Female betta took the leap...

My female betta decided she didn't like being in the 55 gallon anymore i guess... anyway my husband found her on the floor... mysteriously covered in cat fur. My theory is she jumped out the back where the openings are for the filter and stuff... and then the cats probably found her and batted her around.

If the cats would have eaten her that would have been a faster death. Sorry for your loss !

That's exact;y what I thought when I saw the post title. That really stinks. Sorry for the betta and I hope Ditzy comes back safe and sound.

I've never had a fish take the leap before, but I am sure it must stink. As for the cat, I've had a couple run away. I suppose that's what I get for keeping outdoor cats.

Well as i had previously stated, my Scuba who used to be an outdoor kitty when we lived out in the country, before we got him fixed, he ran away for like 2 weeks and we assumed him dead and he came back! Then we got him fixed and all my kitty's are indoor only. But Ditzy has NEVER been outside, she got out once when she was little, but came right back, but now we live in a townhouse and i know that the outside must smell weird to her... and im afraid it won't smell familiar enough for her to find a way back... anyway, totally off topic i know, but thanks again for all of your consolances.
