I forgot to turn on my filter for 5 days. I turned it on and it smells horrible. I did a 75% water change, should I do something else? I don’t want my fish to die.

Check water parameters if you can, rinse out filter media in old tank water to remove any mulm/decaying bacteria and keep an eye on your fish for any sign of stress. Pick up some prime just in case there is a mini cycle and dose as per recommended to treat for ammonia if there is some present.

Depending on the age of the tank a lot of bacteria can be within the tank and not the filter, so you may be okay.

Water change frequently to help matters and possibly look into a picking up some cycled media.
