In that case I don't think you will go wrong with ether filter, although there are some advantages to a canister filter. If I were you I would get the 304 sunsun or aqua top or whatever it is being called now

I believe so. They are rated at around 500 gph that puts you at a 6.6 turn over rate. Sounds good to me. Most folks on here will tell you the more filteration the better, so maybe even two 110? But i like to over filter my tanks...

For a 75 gallon, I would go with a 304 model.

Great filter. That or the Rena XP4. Both would give you more flexibility than a HOB and are very easy to use not to mention quiet.

What is the benefit of having a canister filter vs a sump or a normal filter??
