Filter Media Stages

I have an AQ70 with mechanical, chemical and biological filtration. I know the water is filtered top to bottom so starting from the bottom to the top my order is as stated above (mechanical,chemical,biological) I want to add filter floss and a water polishing sponge. Where in my setup would I place these things? My idea would be mechanical,filter floss, chemical(may remove) water polish pad, biological. How does this sound?

You're referring to the Fluval AquaClear 70, correct? If so, the water flow is from bottom to top. I would do something close to what you suggested:
Sponge, floss, polishing pad, ceramic media. No carbon.
