Several of my angelfish have developed a strange white fungus on their long trailing ventral fins, sort of like wisps of cotton clinging to their fins. What causes this? What is the best remedy? I don't want any chemical that will damage the beautiful swordplants growing in my aquarium. Any suggestions in regard to medication?

I would recommend water changes versus any meds. Can you tell us about your tank? Size, fish, maintenance, etc?

From what I hear API makes great meds. Also if all of your fish have not grown this fungus, isolate the sick ones in a separate tank and nuke that tank with water changes/meds(not sure what would be better but I am a huge fan of Western Medicine), and freshwater salt.

Lots of water changes mine got it nd i fixed them by changing the water everyday. Its better than Meds because meds can sometimes stress the fishies you have just got to keep fighting!
