Greetings folks!

I only have a few years experience and it's been the best hobby ever. I have taken a love to Orandas and having some filtration issues. It's for a 55 gallon, planted, oranda tank. Currently have 3 in the tank and they are absolutely healthy and beautiful.

The filters are currently x2 Marineland 200's. I'm noticing that the bottom of the tank maybe getting too stagnant and upgraded to x2 emperor 280's. Everything was going great until installation! The filter actually not only hits the bottom of the tank, but they are too long for the 55 causing the filter on the back to be lopsided.... oops.

Any tips on what I can do? Would cutting the bottom extension piece a few inches be something to consider? It's such a tall tank I didn't realize this would be a thing.

I know... just had a newborn baby so my brain is fried and an easy fix is right before me eyes, but alas...here we are.

Cheers :fish2:
