It makes me want to go home and hug my little fish. Of course it also makes me feel guilty about brining tuna for lunch.

Those fish are endangered, not extinct. Nevertheless, it's still horrible. I was watching a cooking show the other night on a french sea food dish and they dredge the sea in monty burns style JUST to get the ingredients to an old fish soup recipe! Then they discard the small basslet and other small fish like they're nothing after they've made broth out of them! They don't even actually USE THEM!

I was just reading an article about sturgeon. The Caspian Sea sturgeon is on a verge of extinction, because of the poachers. They catch and kill the fish for black caviar. Sturgeon is extreme delicacy, but to kill it in such numbers is a shame.

I read that article too. Did somebody from the board post that? I've never had caviar in my life. I'd love to try it but not at the cost of extinction.
