Hello,
I just changed my substrate from gravel to sand and my fish are currently still in a bucket. The water is still cloudy and I don't know if this will affect the fish if I decided to put the fish in tonight. I have them (15 different tetras and 2 cory catfish) in a 5 gallon bucket with an aerator running but will they live through the night or should I put them in the tank now?
Thanks.

They should live through the night, I once got stuck after a move with fish in a bucket and they were fine for a few days. The biggest thing is keep the temp steady.

The biggest thing is heat, you can get away with it without the aerator as long as heat is high enough and steady. Although having both is recommendable.
