Fish List...

5 - Cories
6 - Lemon Tet's
6 - Serpea Tet's
1 - Pleco
1 - Dwarf Flame Groumai
4 - GBR's

I believe I need something in the upper water column, maybe Danios.

20 gallon, sand bed, plastic plants, HOB (plan to add Fluval 203 or 304) and 25% weekly PWC's.

I wouldn't add anything. You are over stocked as it is.

Depending on breed, the pleco by himself could end up being too much for the tank. Instead of more fish, I'd look at a second tank in the 30+ gallon size range. That'll give you room for more types of fish.

Just a warning though, multiple tanks get addictive!

The 1" per Gallon rule of thumb has been around since the early 70's that I know of, possibly longer if you ask those that are older and grayer than I am.

It is fundamentally flawed like the height/weight charts for men and women of the same time period. For example, out of 100 normal healthy men who are 5'-6" tall, only a few really should weigh 135 pounds; the rest of the group should weigh 150-165 pounds.

Now, back to the fish...consideration should be given not only to the length of the fish, but the girth, mass and activity level.

Is a 2" long Angel equal to a 2" long Blue Ram?

Is a 1" Cory equal to a 1" Zebra Danio?
