So I've been trying to cycle my tank with fish since I received terrible advice. I've got a 45 gallon with 8 tiger barbs (1 neon, 2 albino, rest regular), 2 mm platys, 1 sunburst platy, and 2 Denison barbs, and 1 clown pleco. So far everyone has been doing well except for my neon barb. The other day he wasn't feeling so hot and became the victim of a tiger barb turf war. They've chewed off all of his tail fin and some of his caudal fins. I've put him in a breeder to get him away from the others. He seems to look ok. How long will it take for his fins to grow back and how to I reintroduce him to the rest of my fish?

Is your tank cycled yet? Good water parameters will help him recover and watch out for diseases on him.

No, my tank is still trying to cycle. And it doesn't look like fin rot or ich.

Keep water parameters really good while he is recovering.
