I purchased a brand new self cleaning stove a few months ago. I have never used the self cleaning feature as yet. I went to do it yesterday but in the instruction booklet it mentions that some birds are very sensitive to the fumes given off when using the self cleaning feature.

I really need to clean my oven for Christmas but now I'm worried about all my fish tanks which are pretty much in the same area as the stove. It's a very open kitchen/dining/living area.

Do any of you use your self cleaning ovens?

Good One... I haven't used the self-cleaning feature since I got my aquarium but I wouldn't have thought twice about using it. I'd probably turn the stove fan on real high and just do it, but that may be a bad idea... I wonder how toxic those fumes really are.
