I have a 20 gal fw tank with 3 angel fish, 5serpae tetras, 3 lyretail mollies, 5 guppies and 3 clown loaches. I know as these grow this tank will be too small. I am in the works for a much larger tank. that is not my issue right now, what I want to know is if someone might be able to recommend fish that swim near the top of the tank? Thanks.

around here they only have the fullbeaks or whatever lol. i think their gars?? but i saw some really cool redtailed halfbeaks on aquabid. i dont really want to pay the shipping though

Well, if your tank has a canopy (i wasn't sure if you were talking about the 20gal or your future larger tank), I wouldn't suggest an upper swimming fish..

I only say this, because my canopy covers the front part of the top of my tank.. so I NEVER see my hatchets. I always have to bend down and look for them

If you don't have a canopy, then hatchets are really awesome.. but they do need to be in school of 6 or more

hatchets, halfbeaks, danio.

*With the type of fish in the 20 gal, I would go with a 125 gal at least...JMO

my male gourami likes the top most of the time, especially if there is floating plants. the female is always in hiding from him though.
