His maybe common knowledge. But for anyone who own's Fluval canister filters and r tired of replacing the large O rings to prevent leakage. The next time u replace it, hang on to your old one. Clean it and store in a plastic bag. It's merely suffering fm memory compression and will b good as new the next time u clean the filter. It'll save a few bucks
