Forgot to buy a check valve for air pump

Should have done my research before hand.

I bought an air pump and air stone and tube. Forgot to get a Check valve.

I have set it up already and it's working. I have the pump sitting on the lid above the tank. 2 metre tube.

Will pick up a check valve tomorrow. Will it be okay overnight?

I take it it's best to leave it turned on at night to prevent siphoning back up through the tubing. I planned to turn it off at night.

I would leave it on 24/7 regardless. It's above the waterline so it should be fine for now.
