Freshwater Coraline Algae?

I've had my cichlid tank for awhile now and i've noticed something interesting. There is purple algae growing on my rockwork. Not dark purple brown either- vibrant purple, the kind you see on live rock. I'm not too sure what exactly this stuff is but has anyone ever had purple algae? The algae is also mixed with some normal green algae and diatoms.

What exactly is BBA? It could be cyanobacteria, but it doesn't seem to be a film, or slimy in any way. It may be diatoms. My fish don't seem to mind it. I think i should probably clean it though, you never know. I think it's my phosphate levels, coral sand leeches a lot of minerals.
