Freshwater cycling question

Hello everyone,

I have been cycling a freshwater 5.5 gallon tank for a new beta. I have had filter and heater running and have added bottle bacteria to the tank. As of today my levels are
Ammonia 2
Nitrites 0
Nitrates 20
Ph 7.4
Temp 81.4
KH 80
GH 120

Now that I have the nitrates I know I need to get the ammonia back down to 0
I have been doing 50% water changes but ammonia is not dropping. Any suggestions? I used dr. Tim’s bottled ammonia to start the cycle. I have had some moss balls and mini moss to the tank last week.

Note all the steps to be sure to get the best results, but check out C) and D) heater and air bubbler.

I’m having this issue too! My ammonia levels go down with water changes some but I thought it would go down on its own
